Over 360 people visited Signal Hill Voice yesterday and dozens of people signed the petition to bring the Gourmet Food Trucks back to Signal Hill. If you have not done so already, sign the petition to help bring back the Gourmet Food Trucks by clicking here.
The General Manager of Best Buy responded to the Signal Hill Voice inquiry:
Thank you for your feedback and inquiry. Over the seven weeks of the Food truck events, we have tried to manage the traffic and parking lot in an orderly and safe manner. Unfortunately, due to traffic and parking lot concerns we will no longer continue the Food truck event in our parking lot. Thank you again.
The City of Signal Hill responded:
The Planning Commission will be discussing the possible regulations as the Municipal Code doesn’t allow the use in many zones, including the one Best Buy is in.
The People Respond:
Bring the food trucks back! Maria S.
The food trucks are a great idea. Signal Hill is in the center of a
large community. Keep the trucks and “people will come” Trucks of
dreams. Gloria N
Keep the food trucks. They are popular in many cities. This is a great
event for Signal Hill. This has drawn many people to our city. Keep it
up. Robert M
Best Buys parking lot is mostly empty = bad economy. Why not let food trucks use the site, increase foot traffic and sales tax revenues. The trucks are licensed. What is the big deal? Carol C.
It’s a great summer idea for families! Erika
Unbelievable! Bring our trucks back!!!! Chandie F.
Bring back the food trucks. Thank You! Eileen S.
This is just unbelievable! Angie D.
This was the best idea to have friends and family outtings. Nancy V.
I have attended the Wednesday night events for the past three weeks. It’s a fun, positive atmosphere, and 2 out of the 3 times I went into the store to shop after eating. if it’s an issue, limit it to 6 trucks and know that if Kogi or Grilled Cheese shows up, it will be a big night. You had a great thing going. Kern G.
Bring back the food trucks. David W.
I just came from a disappointing trip from Best Buy. No Lunch Trucks today! -anonymous
This was a wonderful community service and event to bring the
community together. Nancy N.
I love the Food Trucks and their presence in Signal Hill was a boon to the economy of the greater Long Beach and Signal Hill area. It brought people together in a communal way and offered a new and exciting experience to the community. Keep the Food Trucks!!! Kathleen K

Come on…really?
Drat! I loved the food trucks in the Best Buy lot. Maybe some other spot will be willing to step up and host a Food Truck night. Los Alamitos has one on Thursday in a Union Bank Parking lot. Maybe somewhere without business at night or alternately a place like the large Home depot lot . Too bad Starbucks don’t generally have large parking lots or it could be a match made in heaven…
